Cyberdragon Terms and Conditions
By engaging with Cyberdragon, LLC, you automatically agree to all of the terms described on this page.
Definition of Terminology
In this document, various terms are used to describe parties. The definitions of these terms are as follows:
Cyberdragon, we = Cyberdragon, LLC
The customer, the client, you = the party contacting and/or requesting services from Cyberdragon, LLC
Third-party company = a party other than Cyberdragon, LLC or the customer
General Terms
As a business offering a service, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. We ask that all customers are kind and respectful. Racism, sexism, or hate speech of any kind will result in immediate refusal of service. Yelling at a Cyberdragon representative will also result in immediate refusal of service.
Cyberdragon, LLC may take photos of the device for marketing purposes. Any and all personal information will be redacted from any photos.
All correspondence to Cyberdragon is recorded, including phone calls. Security cameras are present at Cyberdragon's location and will record all visits and interactions, from arrival to departure. Recordings are stored indefinitely and may be used as training data in local facial recognition software. By contacting or visiting Cyberdragon, you agree to being recorded.
Any and all visits to Cyberdragon in person must be made via appointment, and must be on time within 15 minutes. Earlier arrivals may be asked to wait, and late arrivals may be asked to reschedule. Customers with no appointment will have to schedule an appointment first.
Estimate Terms
Cyberdragon may provide estimates (also referred to as quotes) before repair work commences to describe the estimated cost of the repair before proceeding. Work will not commence until the customer has agreed to the estimate.
Estimates sent by Cyberdragon are just that; estimates. They are NOT final quotes, and are not contracts that bind Cyberdragon to that amount. Estimates may change due to parts availability, expected labor times, and more.
Diagnostics Terms
"Diagnostics" qualifies as an assessment of the problem and a price estimate, up to 30 minutes. Diagnostics becomes "labor" if special tools (such as a multimeter) are required, the diagnostics is performed during a service call, or the time to diagnose exceeds 30 minutes.
Diagnostics are free if the client decides to proceed with repairs. If the client declines repairs, or otherwise only receives the diagnostics, a diagnostics fee will be charged. The diagnostics fee will also become a 14-day voucher for labor if the client later decides to proceed with repairs.
A diagnostics voucher is only applicable for the same issue that was diagnosed. A diagnostics voucher does not apply if the issue has changed (for example, if the client dropped their device and broke their screen after receiving diagnostics for a bad battery), if a different device is brought in, or if 14 days since diagnostics were completed have elapsed.
Data Privacy Terms (Privacy Policy)
Data privacy is a serious topic, especially for computer repair shops. Cyberdragon takes data privacy very seriously, and takes every precaution to ensure that no personal data gets into the hands of malicious or unwanted parties.
Cyberdragon will only record and store information essential to your repair ticket. This information may include, but is not limited to, your full name, phone number, email address, street address, device password or decryption key.
Cyberdragon will not store or process financial information such as credit card or bank account info. All digital payments are processed through Square, PayPal, Venmo or Zelle accordingly.
During repair jobs, Cyberdragon will not look through ("snoop") personal data on any customer devices during work, unless it is explicitly required to perform the requested service.
Cyberdragon will hold onto customer data for at least 30 days after the work has been completed, unless otherwise required by law. Once 30 days has passed, the data will be destroyed using the best data destruction practices possible, typically either using the US DoD 5220.22-M ECE algorithm or the device's built-in secure erase methods. If the data could not be destroyed via software, the storage device bearing the data will be physically destroyed.
Cyberdragon will not distribute any personal files to anyone other than the client, and if needed, law enforcement. (If Cyberdragon comes across any illegal content during the repair, we are obligated to report it to law enforcement.) Cyberdragon will never sell any personal information.
Repair Job (Work Order) Terms
By leaving your device in the possession of Cyberdragon, LLC, you (the customer) agree to pay in full for the parts and services involved in your work order before you pick up your device. You also agree that parts and labor may increase from a quoted cost, as there may be other issues or broken components discovered during the repair process.
Repair tickets started with Cyberdragon cannot be cancelled once the work has begun. Work will begin when the timer for labor has started, or parts have been ordered. A ticket may only be cancelled if the work has not yet begun.
If parts required for repairs exceeds $25 in cost, the customer must either leave their device with Cyberdragon or pay for the parts up front. If the parts exceed $50 in cost, the customer must pay for the parts up front, regardless of whether Cyberdragon remains in possession of the device.
Any parts that have been ordered must be installed in the device within 14 days of receiving all parts, otherwise the parts will be returned to the seller, which may result in additional repair delays, and a $15 late install fee will be applied. If 30 days have elapsed since the arrival of parts, no refund will be provided if the client has prepaid for them, and the client will have to order parts anew.
While Cyberdragon will take any and every precaution to ensure that no personal data is lost while your device is in our possession, hardware failure may occur that requires specialized data recovery services. Cyberdragon, LLC is not responsible for the loss of personal data, as it is the customer's responsibility to maintain up-to-date backups of their data.
Cyberdragon will hold onto customer devices for 30 days after the work has been completed, or when customer action is required to continue. Cyberdragon will attempt to reach the customer through the provided contact information more frequently upon approaching this deadline. The 30-day period may be extended at the sole discretion of Cyberdragon. However, once 30 days (or the alternative period mutually agreed upon) have passed, the device will become property of Cyberdragon, LLC and may be reused, recycled, or resold at our discretion. No refund will be provided to any prepayment, parts or otherwise, once this period has lapsed.
Shipping delays, parts availability, additional required tools, weather, and other device issues may impact repair time and cost. We ask that all customers are understanding of any delays that occur, as we cannot offer compensation for parts delays and cost differences.
On rare occasion, repair jobs may need to be outsourced to other companies. In such cases, Cyberdragon will clarify that the work is outsourced and relay the quote given by the third-party company, and that Cyberdragon cannot make any guarantees to the cost, speed or quality of the third-party company. You (the customer) agree that Cyberdragon is not liable for the actions and quotes of third-party companies, and agree to the terms of the third-party company. You also agree to pay all costs charged by the third-party company, as well as additional costs for handling transportation of the applicable device(s) to and from the third-party company.
Out-of-Office Repair Job Terms
For any on-site service performed, payment must be made in full before departure, unless otherwise agreed upon between you and Cyberdragon. If we head to the service area and you are not available, we will consider the work to be declined and you will still be expected to cover the trip fee. Additionally, due to the limited tools available during on-site service, we may request to bring the device back to our office to continue work as additional equipment or a better working environment may be required. If you decline Cyberdragon from taking the device for this reason, you will be declining the work and must still pay the trip fee.
For any remote work, payment for the work must be made in full within 7 days after the service date. Failure to pay in the allotted time frame will result in denied future service until payment has been made, and all contact information will be shared with other repair shops, resulting in the possible denial of service from other companies as well.
For devices that are shipped back and forth between you and Cyberdragon, it is the customer's responsibility to package the device well and label the box with the appropriate regulatory and warning labels (for example, "UN3481" and "Fragile"). Cyberdragon is not responsible for lost or damaged packages during shipping and cannot offer warranty or compensation for devices damaged in transit. It is highly recommended to take photos of the device and the packaging so they can be relayed to the shipping insurance for a damage claim.
A shipping label may be provided for the initial shipment to the shop upon request, however it is the customer's responsibility to cover the shipping costs both ways regardless of whether the quote for requested work has been approved. If the cost of the shipping label exceeds $25, the customer will be required to pay for the shipping label in advance.
"Second Look" Terms
If the issue the customer had brought their device in is not resolved after repair services are performed, Cyberdragon will perform a second look of the device within 14 days of the pickup date. Unless otherwise specified, Cyberdragon will not charge additional hourly labor for a second look; the customer will still be required to pay for any additional parts, or labor performed by third parties.
If the customer refuses to allow Cyberdragon to take another look at the device, or if the customer brings their device to another repair shop for repairs, the second look service will be voided and the customer will be required to pay for the labor for any additional repairs.
Cyberdragon holds no responsibility for any damage performed by the customer after their device has been picked up. For example, if Cyberdragon performs a screen replacement and the customer immediately drops their device after it has been returned to them, Cyberdragon will not be obligated to perform the screen replacement again for free.
